“The distance between dreams and reality is called Action!” – Brian Tracy

This quote perfectly encapsulates my journey, and it’s especially poignant as I reflect on a significant

milestone recently achieved by my partner, Devareddy Spoorthi Keya, and me. We secured 3rd place

in the Impetus Case Competition, hosted online by the prestigious Indian Institute of Management

Bangalore. This achievement marks not just a victory but a testament to the power of action in

turning aspirations into tangible results.

From the moment I embarked on my business school journey, I was excited by the prospect of diving

into case studies and competitions. The Impetus Case Competition was particularly appealing due to

its focus on addressing the gender gap in the workplace—an issue I am deeply passionate about.

Although the competition was held online, the virtual format presented its own set of challenges

and opportunities.

The competition  core challenge was to identify and address the struggles faced by women in

professional settings and propose innovative solutions to bridge this gender gap. Our approach

involved a thorough analysis of existing barriers, extensive research, and a deep dive into best

practices for promoting gender equality.

We began by analyzing data and gathering insights on the key issues affecting women in the

workplace. This involved reviewing existing literature, interviewing industry experts, and

synthesizing information to develop a comprehensive understanding of the problem. Crafting a

solution required us to think creatively and develop strategies that were not only innovative but also

practical and implementable.

When the results were announced, discovering that we had secured 3rd place was an exhilarating

moment. It was a recognition of our hard work and determination, and it affirmed that our approach

and ideas had made a significant impact. This achievement was a proud moment for us, reflecting

the successful culmination of our efforts in a challenging virtual environment.

I am immensely grateful to the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Noida, for their

unwavering support throughout this journey. Special thanks go to our director, Dr. Vandana Ahuja

ma'am, and Dr. Ritesh Dwivedi sir, along with all the faculty members. Their guidance and

encouragement were crucial in helping us navigate the complexities of the competition and achieve

our goals. As I look ahead, I am filled with excitement for future opportunities. It has reinforced my

belief that with determination and action, even the most ambitious dreams can become reality.

This achievement is just a stepping stone, and I am eager to continue pursuing new challenges and

making a positive impact. The journey from dreaming to achieving has been transformative, and I

am looking forward to what comes next with renewed enthusiasm and a sense of purpose.
