This topic is more than just a discussion point—it's a cause that fuels both my passion and purpose. Sharing the stage with talented peers, we explored challenging questions, questioned societal norms, and imagined what a truly inclusive future might look like. What struck me most was this realization: debates like these aren’t just about eloquence—they’re about impact. They are powerful tools to shift perspectives, ignite dialogue, and bring about change.
That win wasn’t just a personal milestone; it felt like a moment of clarity. It reflected how far I’ve come on my MBA journey—from mastering case studies to leading club projects, and now, stepping up to speak on issues that truly matter to me. Beyond academics, this experience has been one of growth, self-awareness, and finding the courage to use my voice.
Just as I was soaking in the thrill of that first win, life had another ‘first’ waiting for me.
The Times of India Internship: Purpose Meets Practice
I’m absolutely thrilled to have started my summer internship at The Times of India—one of India’s most iconic media institutions with a legacy of over 180 years. Being part of this powerhouse of journalism and innovation has been nothing short of humbling and energizing.
In my very first week, I dove into the vibrant world of Sales & Marketing, exploring verticals like Advertising Solutions, Print Innovation, and Content & Cause Partnerships. Each project gave me a closer look at TOI’s robust and multifaceted brand ecosystem—from The Times of India and Bombay Times to ET Wealth and Navbharat Times. Understanding how each brand serves a unique audience while contributing to a cohesive media strategy has been fascinating.
A true highlight has been discovering the impactful work of NIE (Newspaper in Education)—a 40-year-old initiative empowering students across India through education and storytelling. From thought-provoking articles on AI and sustainability to creative features like Wonder & Wander and School Scoop, NIE is a brilliant fusion of learning and engagement. Its unique 360° model—combining content, community, and commerce—has offered invaluable insights into how marketing can be both strategic and socially meaningful.
The Journey So Far—and Ahead
These past few weeks have been a whirlwind of first wins and first steps. From raising my voice in a debate on gender equality to learning the art of strategic communication at one of the country's most revered media houses, I’ve come to understand that growth doesn’t come from staying comfortable—it comes from stepping into the unknown, and daring to speak up, show up, and stand out.
This journey is no longer just about academic achievements or career milestones—it’s about purpose, impact, and transformation. And if this is just the beginning, I can’t wait to see what comes next.
