As we at Symbiosis set out to establish SIBM, Noida in 2023, it was vital for us to keep in mind the obvious-we were preparing students to be ready for a career in the Management domain and for this purpose they had to be equipped with five future-ready capabilities: Data-Driven Thinking, Strategic Problem Solving, Professional Communication, AI & Digital Fluency, & Leadership with a Global Mindset. Considering that we have students with all academic backgrounds, with work experience and without the same, we had to cater to a diverse population. We appreciated the fact that each student was different & each had their own sets of strengths and weaknesses, experiences & learning requirements. With this context, we set about inculcating these skills in our students.
ANALYTICAL & DATA DRIVEN DECISION MAKING-
Students were expected to develop the ability to interpret data, use analytical tools, and translate insights into business decisions. For this, the curriculum includes tools such as Excel, R, Python, Power BI, Tableau and SPSS. Additionally, certification programs on 'Data Driven Decision Making' conducted by KPMG provide the required knowledge.
STRATEGIC THINKING & PROBLEM SOLVING-
Case based learning, Research based learning, simulations, live projects and experiential assignments encourage students to analyse ambiguous business situations and develop practical, strategic solutions. A well crafted program structure empowers students with the foundation required for application of the same for appropriate decision making. Exposure to real life situations help students in developing the ability to look at a situation through multiple perspectives.
COMMUNICATION & PROFESSIONAL SKILLS-
Regular presentations, case discussions, industry interactions, group activities and pre-placement programmes help students develop professional communication, interpersonal effectiveness & workplace readiness. Good business communication skills increase the impact of knowledge and are essential for managerial effectiveness.
DIGITAL & AI READINESS-
Students are increasingly exposed to Generative AI, business analytics and AI-enabled research & decision-making. Several workshops as well as incorporation of well-defined AI courses in the curriculum takes care of this. SIBM, Noida also incorporates AI-powered execution into its placement preparation initiatives.
LEADERSHIP, COLLABORATION & GLOBAL MINDSET-
Student committees (well defined student Councils and student clubs, coordinated by Pranav Kumar Pandey Sahaj Thareja Jeevesh Pathak Parth Gupta Nidhi Singh Apeksha Gaur Om .Diya Yadav Arihant Chaturvedi @Ananya Das Shubham Meharia Suvidhi Jain Pranjal Saxena Anisha Lal), industry engagement (through guest lectures, industry visits and panel discussions), international study tours (to AIT, Thailand & IMT, Paris) and cross-cultural experiences (with international guests addressing the students) develop teamwork, leadership, adaptability & global business perspectives.
