Cinematic Pedagogy in Management Education-learning business through 'The Titan Story'.

The Titan Story, recently aired on OTT platforms chronicles the story of the brand Titan and is a story of Vision, leadership, innovation, risk taking and organisational values.

In the first year MBA class we recently made use of Cinematic Pedagogy to explain to students how entrepreneurial vision and organisational transformation can shape the future of businesses.

The Pedagogical Objectives were to enable students to
-Analyse business strategy and diversification
-Explorie innovation and brand building
-Understand business vision and leadership decision making

Post viewing discussions focussed on making concepts relatable, meaningful and memorable and the primary takeaway for the students was-'Great Businesses are not merely built on products. They are built on Purpose, People and Principles.'
Students were able to respond to questions pertaining to the Marketing Mix, Product Management and Customer Relationship management decisions and Advertising.

  1. What makes this approach interesting is how a business story can turn abstract management ideas into something students can actually see, question, and relate to. Watching the journey of Titan through the lens of vision, choices, people, and values creates room for conversations that go beyond the textbook, and that is often where meaningful learning begins.
