India at the BRICS Table: A Bigger Seat, A Bigger Role

Image
Nitya Garg   MBA (2026-28)   SIBM, Noida A seat at a table is much more than a chair. It's a chance to talk, negotiate, shape and, occasionally, dictate the discussion. The BRICS table has started playing an important role for India . What started off as an economic acronym has become a platform that brings together key emerging economies from regions, markets and political systems. BRICS provides India with opportunities to expand its financial cooperation, enter new markets, avail development finance, and also provide it with a wider platform to interact with the Global South. It also puts India in a room with a possibility for countries to work together on one thing, but compete on the other. But there is a bigger question, Is India's rise in BRICS just about a larger seat at the table, or is India starting to play a bigger role at the table? From an Acronym to a Global Platform The concept of BRICS started as an economic idea. Brazil, Russia, India and China a...

The entry-level job is disappearing. The entry-level manager cannot.

Image
Dr. Vandana Ahuja   Professor & Director   SIBM, Noida Across industries, the bottom rung of the career ladder is quietly vanishing. AI now drafts the first report, cleans the first dataset, and summarises the first research brief. The tasks that once trained a fresher for eighteen months are increasingly being completed in eighteen seconds. For students preparing to enter the workforce, this raises a real and uncomfortable question. If the tasks that once taught us the job are disappearing, how do we learn to lead it? The answer cannot be to compete with AI at routine, repetitive work. That was never really the point of entry-level experience. It has to be to enter the workforce already capable of what AI still cannot do: framing the right problem, reasoning through incomplete information, and taking responsibility for a decision. At SIBM NOIDA, this is why we do not measure a student's readiness by how efficiently they can execute a task. We measure it by ho...

From Automation to Autonomy: How Artificial Intelligence Is Redefining Marketing and Consumer Behaviour

Image
Anshita Srivastava   MBA (2025-27)   SIBM, Noida This will give a brief introduction to what is currently on the horizon for marketing and what's coming next in marketing. Marketing has always gone through phases and changes, and with every change in technology and consumer behaviour, it has undergone an improvement. From mass media to data-driven, digital engagement, marketing has always travelled alongside and adapted to technology and the ever-changing consumer habits. The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a pivotal moment, however, as it is not just an enhancement of current marketing efforts, but a re-shaping of how marketing decisions are perceived, undertaken and continually improved. It is based on a summary of recent academic research and industry studies and reports (2020-2026) including McKinsey, PwC, Bain, Gartner and World Economic Forum studies and reports, two examples of brands are included. It's important to note at the beginning that there is s...

MBA Education is about applying knowledge and intelligence across the right business situations.

Image
Dr. Vandana Ahuja   Professor & Director   SIBM, Noida A management degree provides the foundation. But what truly prepares a graduate for the future is the ability to apply knowledge, adapt to change and make informed decisions. The business environment is evolving rapidly. AI, digital transformation, data-driven decision-making and changing consumer expectations are reshaping how organisations operate. As a result, tomorrow’s managers need more than functional expertise. They need analytical thinking, digital awareness, communication, creativity, empathy and strategic judgement. Applications for the MBA programme at SIBM Noida are open.  This is why management education must go beyond textbooks and examinations. Case studies, live projects, industry interactions, simulations and interdisciplinary learning can help students experience the complexity of real business decisions and understand how different functions come together to solve problems. A marke...

The future of management is human, even in an AI-first world.

Image
Dr. Vandana Ahuja   Professor & Director   SIBM, Noida Artificial intelligence is changing how businesses operate. It can analyse vast amounts of data, automate processes, identify patterns and support faster decision-making. But as technology takes on more tasks, one question becomes increasingly important What remains uniquely human in management? The answer lies in judgement, empathy, curiosity, communication and the ability to lead people through uncertainty. At SIBM NOIDA, we believe management education must prepare students for both sides of this changing business landscape. Understanding technology is important, but so is understanding the people, behaviours and contexts in which that technology is applied. This is why contemporary management education cannot be only about learning how technology works. It must also develop the human capabilities to decide when, where and why it should be used. Because the managers of tomorrow will not simply manage technolo...

Image
Dr. Vandana Ahuja Professor & Director SIBM, Noida As we at Symbiosis set out to establish SIBM, Noida in 2023, it was vital for us to keep in mind the obvious-we were preparing students to be ready for a career in the Management domain and for this purpose they had to be equipped with five future-ready capabilities: Data-Driven Thinking, Strategic Problem Solving, Professional Communication, AI & Digital Fluency, & Leadership with a Global Mindset. Considering that we have students with all academic backgrounds, with work experience and without the same, we had to cater to a diverse population. With this context, we set about inculcating these skills in our students. ANALYTICAL & DATA DRIVEN DECISION MAKING- Students were expected to develop the ability to interpret data, use analytical tools, and translate insights...

A Management classroom should never be disconnected from the world. It prepares students to lead.

Image
Dr. Vandana Ahuja Professor & Director SIBM, Noida Business does not wait for textbooks to be updated. Markets shift. Technologies evolve. Consumer behaviour changes. New business models emerge. And decisions that seemed right yesterday can demand a different perspective tomorrow. This is why, at SIBM Noida, we believe management education must remain in constant conversation with the world of business. From understanding the implications of AI and analytics to discussing real business challenges with practitioners, our endeavour is to create an environment where students don't simply learn concepts  they learn to question, interpret and apply them. Global Trade Wars: How the World Is Moving from Free Trade to Strategic Competition

By Nihar Satsangi and Shrinjoy Chakraborty SIBM, Noida Introduction For many years the global economy appeared to obey a simple rule to the effect that the more freely countries traded, the better off everyone was. It was possible for firms to produce their products in countries where it was cheaper to do so, to get their raw materials from another part of the world and then to sell their finished goods almost everywhere, with consumers enjoying lower prices, businesses being able to tap into bigger markets and the various countries becoming more closely linked through international trade. In recent years governments have begun to pose a new series of questions: what would happen if an important supply chain suddenly collapsed? What if a country became too reliant on another nation for technology, medicines or essential raw materials? And what if it turned out that economic dependence was a threat to national security? Where is trade liberalization now? Trade liberalisation just ...

SIBM, Noida Student Completes Summer Internship at Pidilite

Image
Subhanshu Bisht  SIBM, Noida     "The market has a way of teaching lessons that no textbook ever can." 📚➡️🏪 Over the past few weeks, I had the opportunity to intern with Pidilite Industries Limited as a Management Trainee in the Consumer Products – Maintenance (CP-MNT) division, where I worked on a project focused on "Accelerating sales growth through Range Selling". Like many MBA students, I entered the internship with frameworks, models, and plenty of classroom knowledge. Then I stepped into the market. And suddenly, everything looked different. I spent my days visiting hardware stores, interacting with retailers, shadowing Territory Sales Incharges, observing buying behaviour, understanding distributor dynamics, and learning why some products move while others never leave the shelf. One insight stood out more than anything: 👉 Sales isn't just about convincing customers—it's about making the right product available at the right outlet, at the right tim...
